Service Description
The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program at Little Champ Camp is a leadership development opportunity for youth ages 13–16 who are interested in working with children and gaining real-world camp experience. CITs build communication, leadership, and teamwork skills while supporting campers in a fun, structured, and inclusive environment. This unpaid volunteer position qualifies for Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) community service hours. There is no fee to participate. CITs must commit to full-week placements (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM) and may register for one week, multiple weeks, a month, or the full summer. Participants receive two 30-minute breaks daily. All CITs must be confident swimmers, actively participate in daily swim time with campers, and provide their own City of Mississauga swimming pass. CITs are always supervised by trained senior staff, receive mandatory orientation and safety training, follow a clear Code of Conduct, and complete required consent and screening forms. Volunteer hours are tracked and provided upon request.

Removal decisions are final and not subject to appeal. The Parent/Guardian agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Little Champ Camp Inc. from any claims or expenses arising from the actions or omissions of the CIT participant.
